So long, King of Pop
The world was in complete shock when one of music’s legendary icon, Michael Jackson, died in the age of 50.
Reports say that he suffered from cardiac arrest and paramedics were unable to revive him. Los Angeles Police Department officials are still investigating on what really caused his untimely death.

Rest in peace, MJ.
Hailed as the King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s impact on pop culture was undeniable. His brilliant lyrics kept the world singing; his awesome beats kept the world dancing. Everybody wanted to imitate his incredible moves. Everybody anticipated every video he released.
Aside from being a great performer, Michael Jackson will be remembered as an influential artist who broke the racial barriers in the music industry. He paved the way for non-white performers to be recognized around the world. He became an inspiration to people. He proved that a person, whether black or white, can be successful in the industry that he is trying to pursue, as long as he has the talent and the passion for it. Perfect examples of that are Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda, two of our Filipino performers who are making big names for themselves abroad.
Let us not allow Michael Jackson be remembered only as a grotesque caricature of controversies. Like what the Dailymail UK said, it’s time to shelve the suspicions and appreciate his music.
