Pilipinas Shell, together with MTV Philippines, launched its new collection of Ferrari model cars on April 6 at the Main Atrium of the SM Mall of Asia. The seven new Ferrari models — Ferrari FXX, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari F430 Challenge, Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari F40, Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale and Ferrari 575 GTC — feature real engine sounds and a high speed pull-back-and-release action.
Shell began its technical partnership with Enzo Ferrari in the 1930s to develop the gas company’s world class Shell V-power road fuel and Shell Helix motor oil. In 1947, the first Ferrari drove out of the factory gates in Maranello, Italy that was, of course, powered by Shell.
Throughout the partnership, Shell has helped Ferrari fuel up to ten FIA Formula One Constructors’ World Championship titles and twelve Drivers’ titles. But the technical partnership is about more than just track success; it’s about transferring that race technology to the road.
