If you did not watch the main event in yesterday’s fight, then you have certainly missed a lot. Finishing the match within the second round with a KO, Manny Pacquiao not only shut the mouths of his opponents and supporters, which we all know have been very active prior to this memorable event. He also made so many people buzz about him and his “place in history” (Newsday.com).

After Pacmans match against Ricky Hatton, talks have increased, asking if Pacman now deserves to be placed beside the boxing greats like Ali. Many people around the world, not just the Filipinos (though we seem to have at least a representative in every country in the world), seem to think so.

Whether or not Pacman would claim foothold among the best boxers in the world throughout history, he has long found a strong place in our hearts as Filipinos. Every time he has a match, a dramatic change across the country seems to always occur.

Prior to the match Manila Bulletin has pointed out an expected “undeclared truce” between the government’s military and terrorist groups. This would coincide with a report of zero-crime rate from the PNP, which has been occurring in the last several years on the days Pacquiao has matches.

If you want to watch a bit of the match online, see zdiaz.com.

Now, who thinks Pacman deserves to be named one of the greatest fighters in the world and of all time?
